DM-Last Step
The Mad Monk

DM-LastStep is the latest high action Death match created by the MadMonk, he seems to have a craving for 1-on-1 levels, and this is one of his best. It has a unique style to it that is a refreshing to my brain. I am getting sick of castle style maps that everybody keeps creating.

Looks:
A lot of thought has gone into this map to make it what it is now, you have to appreciate the work that has gone into this.
This map uses the techno-based textures from Unreal Tournament. All of the textures are correctly scaled, and most are aligned. There are a few textures however, that are not aligned, but not too many.
Lighting is excellent, no mistakes as far as I can see. The lighting adds to the reality of the game, bringing out textures and detail of this map. Now let us discuss the skybox, there is not a skybox in this map. You are probably thinking it will not look good, it will look fake, but if you think that, you could not be farther from the truth! It actually looks cool, and slower computers will not lag as much on this map then if it did have a skybox. Architecture is great, very realistic. The way this map was built is great, you are on a structure that is being held up by beams from the ground.

Playability:
This map can play with 2-4 and maybe 5 players in it. In addition, this map plays well, very little lagging. It is rips through other maps like a bullet. Bots play this in map well, and usually seem to get to the udamage before I even get a look at it. They pick up most of the weapons and use the paths well. This map would make a great one on one map to play over the Internet, and it still would not get boring.

Faults:
The map has some unaligned textures in it, and is a bit small, but nothing much.

OVERALL:
This map is awesome! It is necessary for everyone to download, and finally slow computers can run something good! There is no annoying background music either. So go and download this map, I am sure you will enjoy it. I did.
